pure acoustic created for The 2017 Vancouver international Guitar Festval

Andy Nezil learned classical and acoustic guitar construction from luthier Michael Dunn and apprenticed at the Larrivee guitar factory in North Vancouver, B.C. Nezil has specialized in the building of custom New York style archtop guitars since 2006.

“I was a musician long before I was a builder and have strong opinions about how a good jazz guitar should sound and feel. It’s about tone, timbre and ergonomics. I strive for perfection. All my instruments are hand carved and built by me. No robots, no carving machines, no plywood, no plastic. I use the finest British Columbian spruce and figured maple for my guitar bodies, figured sugar maple necks, all wood bindings and purflings (including f-hole bindings). Gabon ebony fingerboard wood, tailpiece wood, finger rests, etc.”
